War of the Roses

This is a family weekend with fun for everyone, and serious competitions for some, set in the lovely village of Cartmel and surrounded by picturesque Lakeland countryside. We will be having our usual events of Tyro, RTV and CCT Trials,  as well as our annual bike trial and, not to be missed, the one and only welly throwing competition.       The camping ground is based on Cartmel Racecourse which is always a very popular venue.  Within Cartmel there are a variety of evening entertainments centred around the local hostelries and eating houses with B&B for those without their own tent/caravan. This weekend is recognised as a major event in annual club calendars around the country and as such requires the help, support and involvement of Red Rose Club members at all levels, so please come and support your club and have some fun at the same time. Remember all the events need many marshals for them to be a success. The committee of Red Rose Land Rover Club look forward to welcoming you to another successful War of The Roses weekend.

Campsite Directions:   Leave M6 Motorway at Junction 36, joining the A591 towards Kendal. After approximately 3 miles turn left onto A590(T) sign posted Barrow-in-Furness. (Approximately 10 miles to site). After climbing the steep hill of Lindale by-pass turn first left after the crest of the hill. Follw the RED ROSE signs and continue straight across first cross roads, turn right at the T-junction and second left towards Wood Broughton. Take second left at a small grass triangle junction and follow road down to Cartmel Racecourse. NOTE: Please only use this approach as the centre of Cartmel village is very difficult for caravans and trailers.
